Program Philosophy: EPBBA, Inc. was created to provide boys who attend Eden Prairie schools with an opportunity to compete and to develop their skills. The league is designed to be competitive as well as to give all participants an equal opportunity to play. To accomplish this, EPBBA, Inc. has instituted rules that require equal play. It is the coach’s responsibility to coach and to rotate the players. The coaches are volunteers and it is necessary for everyone to give them support, as the program could not function without them. The program is designed to be competitive and each game will have a score. NO INDIVIDUAL AWARDS SHALL BE AWARDED by coaches or parents.
8th Grade In-House Program:
The In-House program is for boys in the 8th grade who do not play on a Travel team (For Travel Team Information, See the Travel 4-8 Tab) and elect only to play in the In-House program. Players are NOT allowed to play up a grade. If found to be doing so, will result in an automatic expulsion from the program.
All teams in the In-House Grades 6-8 play their games in the Southwest League, which will include games against Chaska, Chanhassen, Minnetonka, Shakopee and Wayzata. Each team will play a couple of away games at Minnetonka, Chaska, Chanhassen, Shakopee and/or Wayzata.
Volunteers: For the EPBBA to run a successful basketball program, we need volunteers to coach. We will provide a coaching manual to all coaches with practice outlines for each week. Please indicate at least one volunteer job on the registration form.
