Check In
Based on the EP Schools COVID Facility Rental Guidelines, all non-essential visitors, including parents, cannot enter the building.
Check in will take place outside of the Activity Center. We will leverage pop up tents if necessary, depending on the weather.
To control the flow of people checking in we will ask people to check in during waves (Last names A – K first 10 minutes, L – Z last 10 minutes).
Temperatures will be taken upon check in and if above 100.0°F the athlete will be sent home.
Athletes must bring their own mask/gaiter for a face covering and will be expected to arrive with face coverings on. Athletes can take off face coverings when evaluations begin and must put face coverings back on when not competing and after evaluations end to leave the facility.
Parents should take their athlete’s temperature prior to arrival for tryouts. If the temperature is above 100.0°F, then the athlete should stay home. Also, if the athlete is experiencing fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, inability to taste, and/or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, please have participants stay home and communicate with Travel Director.
Tryout Process
All tryouts will occur in the Activity Center, not the High School main gym. All 6 courts will be available and used as needed.
Athletes will be grouped into pods for evaluations with the maximum number per pod of 25.
There will be no more than 10 athletes on a full court at any point in time and no more than 6 on a half court at any point in time.
When athletes are not in the drill, social distancing should be followed.
Hand sanitizer will be readily available at the courts
All evaluators will wear a mask/gaiter for face covering and will have their temperature taken prior to entering the building.
All attempts will be made to limit athletes moving from court to court.
After tryouts are completed, athletes must wear their mask/gaiter until they are out of the building.
After each session, the basketballs will be sanitized prior to the start of the next session.
Any additional changes will be made based on the final number of athletes registered and present for tryouts.
Questions regarding the revised tryout process should be director to Scott Hussong, EPBBA Travel Director, at EPBBAtraveldirector@Gmail.com.
